Happy Birthday Variations: Variation XIII. In the Style of Tango

Fourteen variations on one of the most recognisable themes in musical history, composed by Peter Heidrich and recorded here for the first time in its piano four hands version. Heidrich draws the melody through the styles of Bach, Haydn, Mozart, Beethoven, Schumann, Brahms, Wagner, Reger, and beyond — Viennese waltz, ragtime, Hollywood, tango, Hungarian music.

Marcos Madrigal and Alessandro Stella recorded Happy Birthday Variations following performances in Rome, Paris and Havana.
